The International Magnesium Association (IMA) is accepting submissions for its Awards of Excellence, as well as for its Environmental Responsibility Award.

The 2020 winning entries will be recognized during the 77th Annual IMA World Magnesium Conference, which will be held on May 13-15, 2020 in Fukuoka, Japan. Winners will receive plaques and have their entry prominently displayed throughout the conference.

Deadline to enter is Friday, February 21, 2020.

Awards of Excellence

The IMA Awards of Excellence showcase magnesium products and innovative manufacturing technologies. In its 58th consecutive year, the annual awards are open to all companies demonstrating outstanding examples of magnesium’s use in the following categories:

  • Automotive Cast Product Design
  • Commercial Cast Product
  • Wrought Product
  • Process (recognizing innovation in manufacturing or processing technology leading to higher quality and/or reduced costs)

The merit of entries will be based on the following criteria: innovation, technology, impact, synergies, competitive material displacement, and economics. Nominations are judged by a peer review panel of international experts. Winners are recognized worldwide and receive considerable publicity throughout IMA and the metals industry.
