Zahit Aluminium commissioned and achieved successful operation of a new 12‑inch, 47‑MN extrusion press at its plant in Andana, Turkey. After several months of production, the installation is demonstrating stable performance and reliability in the manufacture of aluminum profiles for structural, architectural, framing, and photovoltaic applications.
Supplied by Danieli Breda in Italy, the press features proven isothermal extrusion technology, ensuring optimized temperature control at the press exit and consistent product quality throughout the production cycle. For billet lengths of 1,500 mm, production on the new press is carried out with consistent low dead‑cycle times below 17 seconds, including the burp cycle. It is also equipped with the Danieli Breda ESED 4.0 energy‑saving system, contributing to reduced electrical consumption during operation.
The installation of the new press included an advanced automation system with an integrated data acquisition and analysis platform (IBA), enabling monitoring and process optimization. Operational efficiency is further supported by the use of an industrial tablet alongside the conventional control panel, allowing improved control, maintenance management and remote assistance capabilities.
The new extrusion press ensures consistent operation with energy savings and advanced automation. The new line supports the manufacturing of a wide range of profile types for multiple industrial applications.
Founded by Zahit Balbay in 1983 as Turkey’s first window and door joinery workshop, Zahit Aluminium invested heavily in its infrastructure, adding extrusion capabilities in 1998 and then additional new production lines and surface treatment lines in the early 2000s to increase production volume and manufacture higher quality products. Today, Zahit is one of the leading corporations in Turkey, exporting to 35 countries across four continents through its global network of stores and dealers.
As part of Zahit Aluminium’s current expansion program, the company has ordered a second extrusion press from Danieli Breda, which is scheduled for installation in the coming months. This will further increase production capacity at the site.
