Constellium SE entered into a multi-year contract with Daher, through which the company will supply a wide range of flat-rolled aluminum products from its facility in Issoire, France. The aluminum will be used in lightweight aircraft, particularly the TBM and Kodiak models. By becoming strategic aluminum supplier for Daher, Constellium is able to expand its customer portfolio in the business and regional jets sector.
“We are very proud and enthusiastic to become the strategic aluminum supplier of Daher,” said Lionel Thomas, global aerospace sales director of Constellium’s Aerospace and Transportation business unit. “This contract is the basis of future developments between our teams.”
Under this new contract, the two companies will cooperate on joint supply chain initiatives and product development. Constellium will support TBM and Kodiak aircraft development, since these two airplane models have seen increasing production rates in the face of growing demand. The company will also collaborate with Daher on the design of new solutions to further lightweight the aircraft, along with respective sustainability commitments.
“Choosing Constellium as our strategic aluminum supplier for the needs of our own aircraft and aerostructures programs is a major step for us, and will build foundations for further partnership to develop sustainable and optimized aircraft and solutions,” said Paul-Marie Dubreuil, VP Procurement, Daher.
