Vimetco Extrusion, a subsidiary of ALRO S.A., plans to invest €10 million in the installation of an automated extrusion line for the production of value-added aluminum profiles in Romania.
“The expertise in creating high and very high value-added products is obtained only through constant investments in innovation and outstanding employee training,” said Marian Năstase, chairman of the board of directors at ALRO. “This recent investment is another step in achieving the company’s long-term vision, along with recent partnerships with companies from industries that are recognized for the high standards of materials used, precision in execution, stability, and predictability in delivery of the finished products.”
Supplied by Presezzi Extrusion Group, the complete 7 inch extrusion line will be able to extrude profiles up to 60 m long at a speed up to 50 m/min. The press will be equipped with the P.E. E.S.S. Energy Saving System in order to reduce gas consumption. It will also feature the supplier’s proprietary Document Management System (DMS), which allows for the entire process to be automated — enabling it to be operated with reduced human intervention.
In addition, the press line will include an advanced quenching system with independently operated water and air-cooling zones, designed to efficiently allocate resources.
“Vimetco Extrusion continues to invest in technology, securing the path for a sustainable, efficient and customer-oriented business,” said Igor Higer, chairman of the board of directors, Vimetco Extrusion. “We consider Presezzi the right partner for this endeavor as we are confident that this project represents only the first step towards a successful, long-term partnership.”
Vimetco Extrusion will continue to develop and ensure an extensive portfolio of solutions while being compliant with the highest standards of environmental protection through constant investments in each area of its activity.
The new press line will support Vimetco’s objectives, including increasing value for customers, shareholders, and community by reducing the company’s impact on the environment. The project will also generate cost-savings and increased operational efficiency.
The new press line is scheduled to be installed and commissioned by September 2022.
