Bharat Forge America Invests in Its North Carolina Aluminum Forging Operation

Bharat Forge Aluminum USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Bharat Forge America Inc. (part of the Kalyani Group), is investing US$40 million in the further expansion of its aluminum forging operations in Sanford, North Carolina. The investment will support capital expenditures at the plant and will support its mainline business in the automotive market.

Based in Lee County, Bharat Forge Aluminum USA commenced operation in 2021 — and was the first greenfield aluminum forging plant to be built in the U.S. in over 15 years. The facility designs, produces, and supplies aluminum automotive components for luxury vehicles. The plant currently features top of the line forging presses (including two 4,000-ton screw presses) and a high level of automation and robotics to ensure the efficiency of its operations.

“Our values set us apart. Spirit of innovation is the core of the organization’s DNA and plays a paramount role in delivering value to our customers through extensive focus on technology & value addition,” said Baba Kalyani chairman and managing director of Bharat Forge.

The company has not divulged the specific capital expenditures that will be implemented. However, this recent announcement reflects the parent company’s support of Bharat Forge Aluminum USA, which has seen a financial turnover of US$60.73 million from April 2023 to March 2024.
