The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) formed a sponsorship agreement with ALUMINUM USA, an event offering an exhibition and conference for all things aluminum: products, technologies and investments in the United States. The next ALUMINUM USA will take place September 12-13, 2019 at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The AEC brings an educational component to ALU USA with the Extrusion Design University (EDU).
“AEC is very excited to partner and collaborate with ALU USA to help create a comprehensive event for the entire aluminum value chain in the United States,” said Jeff Henderson, president of the AEC. “Education is key. We are delighted to organize and collocate the second edition of Extrusion Design University (EDU) with ALU USA. EDU was designed to increase knowledge of designing and engineering products using aluminum extrusions. The program includes educational sessions covering topics in various end markets, including architectural, automotive, and general industrial and product design, arranged in subject-specific tracks and networking opportunities. Both AEC and ALU USA are committed to delivering state-of-the-art insight, innovation and extrusion expertise for the benefit of industry professionals, designers and engineers.”
The first EDU was held in 2018. The two-day event featured educational presentations delivered by AEC members and other individuals, which focused on expanding aluminum extrusion knowledge. The event brought together industry experts regarding the extrusion design and production processes with designers, engineers, and specifiers in the automotive, transportation, building and construction, and engineered products industries that were interested in honing their knowledge and understanding of aluminum extrusions.
