Call for Entries: IMA Awards of Excellence

The International Magnesium Association (IMA) is calling for entries for both the Awards of Excellence
and the Environmental Responsibility Awards.

Winning entries for both awards will be recognized during the IMA’s 71st Annual World Magnesium Conference, to be held June 1 – 3, 2014 in Munich, Germany.

The deadline for both awards is March 7, 2014.

Awards of Excellence

IMA’s Awards of Excellence are an opportunity for participants in the magnesium industry to showcase magnesium products and innovative manufacturing technologies. The annual program is open to all companies demonstrating outstanding examples of magnesium’s use. Nominations are judged by a peer review panel of international experts. Winners are recognized worldwide and receive considerable publicity through the IMA and the metals industry.

  • Design (two categories)
    • Cast Products
      • Automotive cast products
      • Commercial (non-automotive) cast products
    • Wrought Products
  • Process
  • Application

*Note: Please choose only one category per entry. If more than one category is chosen, IMA will return the entry or place the entry in the category deemed appropriate.

Environmental Responsibility Awards

The International Environmental Responsibility Award was created to recognize companies that are playing an active role in reducing the magnesium industry’s carbon footprint and that exemplify the industry’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The award is open to all companies within the global magnesium industry, and is intended to include all aspects of the magnesium industry from primary production through to end-user industries. The 2014 International Environmental Responsibility Awards is sponsored by the IMA.

The award(s) will be presented based on the achieved and documented reduction of carbon dioxide equivalents. Winning entrant(s) will be those that present significant advancements based on the achieved and documented reduction of carbon dioxide equivalents for the year 2013. The awards will be judged by a panel of international experts. Awards will be presented in each of the following categories:

  • Group 1: Magnesium Production and Processing
  • Group 2: Magnesium Applications and Components
