Tahweel Metal Industry Corporation (TMIC) continues to develop its aluminum foil project in the Dammam Third Industrial City (Modon-III) in Saudi Arabia. During an official announcement in Riyadh with the participation of high-ranking government officials and company representatives, the company signed a contract with SMS group for the engineering, manufacturing, and delivery of a six-high aluminum cold rolling mill for the production of high-quality aluminum strips.
TMIC is owned by Tahweel Holding, a leading supplier of material solutions in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA). With the construction of its new aluminum foil plant in Dammam, the company is continuing its expansion into the flexible packaging sector.
The state-of-the-art six-roll stand cold rolling mill from SMS will be the centerpiece of the integrated aluminum-foil complex. The mill is designed to roll strips up to 2,200 mm wide and 8 mm thick, with final thickness down to 0.15 mm. Most of the strip produced will be processed into foils for the food/pharma packaging sector, automotive, and other industrial applications.
The cold rolling mill is built to deliver consistently high product quality. Based on SMS’s competence and decades of expertise in ensuring maximum flexibility and reliability, the mill combines high-precision thickness control, flexible rolling capacities, energy-efficient processes, advanced automation, and robust reliability for long-term production efficiency.
Recently, TMIC also signed a contract with Achenbach Buschhütten for the supply of foil rolling mills and slitting and processing machines.
