Tahweel Metal Industry Corporation (TMIC) plans to construct a fully integrated, state-of-the-art aluminum foil plant in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The announcement ceremony, which took place in Riyadh, was attended by government officials, as well as company and supplier representatives.
Established in 2022, TMIC is the first integrated aluminum foil producer in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The company manufactures products for food packaging, pharmaceutical contact foil, and specialty industrial foils and fins.
TMIC placed an order with Achenbach Buchhütten GmbH, headquartered in Kreuztal, Germany, as the key equipment supplier for the new Dammam foil plant. The scope of supply includes four Achenbach OPTIMILL® foil rolling mills along with an AIRPURE® exhaust air purification system. In addition, the company will supply six Achenbach OPTIFOIL® slitting and processing machines.
“Securing the largest single order in our history strengthens our position as a global technology leader and showcases German engineering on international growth markets,” said André E. Barten, president and CEO of Achenbach. “Over 500 of our skilled employees will contribute to this project from Buschhütten.”
Delivery of the new foil plant is scheduled for early to mid 2027, with production expected to start in Q3 2027. The highly advanced equipment will enable the new plant to achieve a planned annual capacity of 106,000 tons for regional and international markets.
“Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA region are emerging as some of the world’s most dynamic industrial hubs,” said Christian Schneider, director of Global Sales at Achenbach. “Our technology and innovation convinced TMIC, and this project underscores our global competitiveness.”
