Gillespie & Powers Acquires Thorpe Technologies

Gillespie & Powers Inc. completed the acquisition of Thorpe Holding Company, including Thorpe Technologies Inc. and JT Thorpe Inc., both located in San Dimas, California. Both companies will continue to operate independently.

Jack Gillespie will be assuming the role of president of Thorpe Technologies Inc. and will also act as vice president and COO of Gillespie & Powers. John Allen will remain with Thorpe Technologies as senior vice president.

Gillespie & Powers has more than 80 years of experience in the design, supply, and installation of furnace equipment for the nonferrous melting industries. Founded in 1938, the fifth-generation owned company specializes in the furnishing of delacquering, melting, and holding equipment and works closely with clients to offer custom solutions.

Thorpe Technologies is a supplier of a wide variety of custom thermal processing equipment, parts, and services. The company has developed many systems to optimize process operations in recycling, forging, and other areas of the aluminum industry. Their work force has a combined 250 years of experience, dealing with large multi-million dollar projects that provides a great wealth of history and knowledge.

Both Gillespie & Powers and Thorpe Technologies are strong and successful companies,  with long standing reputations of excellence with both domestic and international customers. This merger provides each company with increased engineering capabilities, production, construction, and management capabilities to their customers.
