Capral Aluminium, the largest extruder and distributor of aluminum products in Australia, installed a new vertical powder coating line at its distribution facility in Huntingwood, New South Wales.
The new CUBE Plus vertical powder coating line, supplied by SAT, is a compact line that optimizes space and ensures low operating costs. The line features advanced automation capabilities and includes a drying oven, curing oven, a C-Expert booth, and a Gema OC07 center with 20 automatic guns. It is able to achieve a line speed of 1.4 m/minute.
This is the second vertical powder coating line that Capral has purchased from SAT. The first, a CUBE standard V-shaped booth, was installed in 2018.
Additional Investments
Capral completed the acquisition Allyman Aluminium, an aluminum distribution business in Wollongong, New South Wales. The Allyman business will be rebranded early in 2023, becoming Capral’s third Aluminium Trade Centre in NSW.
“The acquisition of the Allyman business is an integral part of our long-term commitment to supporting Australian trades and manufacturers with reliable access to aluminum products,” said Mark Murray, Capral’s industrial sales manager for the New South Wales region. “Our philosophy is that wherever our customers are, they should feel that Capral Aluminium is just around the corner. ”
The Allyman business was established in 2012 and has actively served trades and manufacturers in the local area and further afield. “The Allyman team have created a great business recognized within the region for delivering exceptional customer service,” said Murray. “We are excited that staff from Allyman will be transitioning to Capral, and we look forward to welcoming them to the Capral business. With their local knowledge backed by our Australia-wide regional distribution network, I’m confident we can continue to grow and develop the aluminum service offer delivered from the Wollongong store.”
A Sustainable Company
Capral Aluminium operates extrusion manufacturing facilities located in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia, all supplying world-class locally-made products at short lead times. In addition, the company has a strategic network of manufacturing and distribution centers producing and distributing a wide range of aluminum products.
As a reflection of the company’s commitment to sustainability, Capral was certified to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard V3 and Chain of Custody (CoC) V2 for its extrusion, warehousing, and distribution businesses. The certifications apply to all of Capral’s 26 facilities spread across every state and territory in Australia.
“As buyers become increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of products, Capral’s ASI certification is a significant achievement and reinforces our position as a responsible and sustainable business,” said Tony Dragicevich, CEO of Capral. “It has been a difficult journey; these standards set high benchmarks and are assessed rigorously by third-party auditors. We can proudly hang our hat on the fact that we are the first Australasian aluminium extruder to achieve certification under the ASI Performance and Chain of Custody standards. Our management systems developed over many years helped us achieve this in less than twelve months — a phenomenal effort by our team.”
