Alumet commissioned an aluminum anodizing line at its newly constructed facility in Etten-Leur, the Netherlands. The facility will enable the company to meet increasing demand for anodization, as well as make it possible to introduce bright anodizing and new colors.
The production facility includes a total surface area of 10,000 sq m, with an 850 sq m office space. The new automated anodizing line installed in the facility provides better profile quality and reduces delivery times from ten working days to five.
The turnkey anodizing line, including mechanical and electrical assembly, was supplied and carried out by Cisart Group in Italy. The line was designed to provide high technical performance, suitable to producing large quantities of aluminum products. Special care was given to ensuring environmental protection and operator safety.
With support from Cisart’s technical staff and a software engineer, Alumet carried out a dry test as part of the first stage of commissioning. The dry test verified the plant’s handling equipment, the process timing with the automated bridge cranes, and ensured that all automated components were working.
Following the initial dry test, a wet production test was carried out. The tanks were filled with process water and chemicals. The wet test consisted of performing the first anodizing, coloring, and electrocoloring surface treatments of aluminum components. The new anodizing line is now in operation at the Etten-Leur facility.
Alumet anodizes a wide range of profiles, cladding, and construction components and panels. With a capacity of over 6,000 tons a year, the company is one of the leading surface treatment companies of the Benelux region (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg).
