Aluminium Konin Impexmetal S.A. in Poland celebrated the completion of its investment program, which included the starting up of production of a new cut-to-length line for processing of coils from thin, soft aluminum, as well as a pull-through leveler, drum shear, and an air-blow stacker.

The cut-to-length line supplied by Georg enables the processing of strip-widths between 600 and 1,250 mm at a maximum speed of 100 m/min. The cut-to-length line is equipped with a double decoiler to take-up coils on to steel spools, including a coil feeding and feeding unit. An edge trimming system provides the ability to cut the aluminum strip to its desired width. A pull-through leveler — also supplied by Georg — is included to generate flat strip, a drum shear for precise cutting to the desired board length, and an air-blow-stacker for precise stacking of the pieces of sheet on to pallets.

The installation of the new cut-to-length line is part of a larger investment program that included expansion of the mill hall and installation of a foundry melting furnace, pusher furnaces, saws for cutting ingot, tension leveling line, and other equipment. The investment will increase production capacity and help the company serve growing demand for aluminum sheet and strip in the building, packaging, household appliances, and automotive industries.

Aluminium Konin Impexmetal, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016, is the largest producer of aluminum flat products in Poland.
