ASEN Metal, an aluminum extruder based in Kocaeli, Turkey, is expanding its operations with the order of a new extrusion press line. The investment will target the production of hard alloys for automotive applications.
Established in the Gebze Industrial Zone, ASEN Metal manufactures high quality standard and customized profiles for local and international markets, with 40% of its production being exported. The company currently has one extrusion line (a, 1,800 tonne, 7 inch SMS press), as well as a machining workshop, an anodizing plant, and powder coating lines.
For its second press line, the Turkish extruder has ordered a 40 MN front-loading extrusion press from Danieli Breda. The new press will rank among the largest extrusion presses in Turkey. It will feature advanced technologies, including an ESED 4.0 patented energy saving system, enabling an average energy savings of 25-30%; a press control system to implement isothermal extrusion; a fully electric billet loader and die-change station, eliminating extra hydraulic systems and reducing maintenance costs; and wireless tablet control systems for easy and efficient machine operation, maintenance, and remote service support. The hydraulic pumps and electrical cabinets will be pre-installed on skids for layout optimization and quick installation.
In addition to providing the press, Danieli Breda will also act as project lead, coordinating the activities of the sub-suppliers appointed for the manufacture of downstream equipment in order to deliver to the customer a fully integrated plant.
The commissioning of the press is planned for the Autumn 2021.
