Nowadays, you can find podcasts on a plethora of topics, ranging from political gabfests to celebrity interviews. Podcasts are excellent resources for those who travel often and want to listen to something that focuses on topics that interest them, instead of aimlessly flipping through the radio dial.
The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) has hopped on the podcast bandwagon, to help fill a niche category that will appeal to many in the aluminum extrusion industry. Their new podcast, aptly named The Shapemakers, answers the age old question, how can I get more aluminum extrusion in my life?
For those who may be unfamiliar with the format, podcasts present audio episodes that one can download on their smartphone, tablet, or computer. The podcasts are usually in conversation or speech format, sort of like talk radio. However, unlike radio, they can be listened to at any time, anywhere that’s convenient for the listener.
In the introductory episode of The Shapemakers, AEC President Jeff Henderson joins Guy Charpentier, division marketing director of of Bonnell Aluminum and AEC Industry Promotion Steering Committee chair, and Jason Weber, VP of Sales & Marketing at Taber Extrusions and AEC’s Marketing Team Chair, to discuss what the new podcast will cover. The episodes will strive to generate more awareness about the aluminum extrusion industry, applications, trade issues and more.
“Im excited about this new offering, now more than ever, ” said Weber. “With COVID forcing many to work remotely, the need has been growing in the extrusion industry for more relevant information to be disseminated at a speed that goes along with the market. A podcast can provide quick, relevant (and convenient) information.”
There are seven podcasts available to download so far, and the AEC plans on releasing them on a regular basis. The episode topics covered already include:
