© by Kautec Solutions

Exalco S.A. commissioned a state-of-the-art 23 MN, 8 inch Eco Concept extrusion press line at its plant in Larissa, Greece. The investment expands the company’s capacity, while also ensuring high efficiency and safety.

Founded in 1973, Ecalco is an integrated aluminum extrusion company, producing aluminum profiles for the modern structural and architectural markets. The company’s plant in Larissa, Greece includes extrusion presses, surface finishing (anodizing, vertical painting, horizontal painting, and Decoral powder coating). In addition to its headquarters in Larissa, the company operates two international subsidiaries, including Exalco Romania SRL in Bucharest and Exalco Bulgaria SRL in Sofia, as well as having an extended sales network in domestic and foreign markets.

Supplied by Kautec Solutions, the new Eco Concept press line installed in Greece features cutting-edge energy-saving technologies. The line also incorporates an underground setup to optimize space utilization while minimizing occupational risks associated with material handling. The design of the line drives productivity, efficiency, and safety within the plant.

A key aspect of the project included a comprehensive analysis of material flows to ensure optimal integration and efficiency within Exaclo’s existing facility. The design seamlessly integrates the new line and connects its to other critical working areas within the plant. To facilitate this Kautec provided a sophisticated system of automated cranes to handle the exchange of baskets between the new press line and the company’s existing lines. This innovative solution not only enhances workflow flexibility, but also streamlines operations, allowing for smooth material transfer and optimized production processes.

Furthermore, in order to support efficient material movement throughout the production unit, a tailor-made system was installed that transports materials to various destinations, including the warehouse, packaging area, surface treatment zones, and other vital processes.
