extrutec GmbH, a global supplier of industrial plant systems for the aluminum extrusion industry, announced a significant expansion in the North American market. Through its subsidiary, extrutec North America, Inc., the company has acquired the assets of Induction Professionals, LLC, a highly respected provider of induction heating and melting equipment. This acquisition will lead to the formation of a new company, Induction Professional Solutions (IPS).
“We are thrilled to welcome Induction Professionals assets and expertise into the extrutec family,” said Uwe Günter, managing partner of extrutec GmbH. “This is an exciting and strategic step for our company. By integrating Induction Professionals’ capabilities into our North American operations, we are well-positioned to offer a comprehensive portfolio of the most modern, energy-efficient induction heating solutions. We are committed to building on the foundation of trust and quality that Tom Kearney and his team have established.”
extrutec North America is a wholly owned subsidiary of extrutec GmbH, providing advanced plant systems for the aluminum extrusion industry in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This strategic move strengthens the company’s global footprint and expands its North American market portfolio. The acquisition combines extrutec’s innovative and energy-efficient technology with Induction Professionals’ extensive experience and strong regional presence.
The newly formed business, IPS, will be located at the former Induction Professionals facility in Youngstown, Ohio, and will focus on providing advanced induction heating and melting systems. Building on Induction Professionals’ expertise and customer relationships, the new entity will also provide comprehensive service, repair, and upgrade solutions to customers across the region. Leveraging a shared commitment to advanced induction technology and customer support, IPS will operate as the North American counterpart to extrutec’s German subsidiary, TCT Induktionstechnik GmbH, which specializes in servicing and repairing technical foundry equipment.
According to the company, the acquisition is a testament to extrutec’s commitment to the North American market as well as to continued innovation and growth in the industrial heating sector. By combining the strengths of both companies, IPS is poised to become a dominant force in the North American induction heating technology market.
To ensure a seamless transition for customers and employees and maintain continuity of service, Tom Kearney, the former owner of Induction Professionals, LLC, will serve as general manager of IPS.
“By joining forces with extrutec to form Induction Professional Solutions (IPS), I am confident that we are entering an exciting new chapter that will bring [our customers] even greater value,” Tom Kearney, general manager of the newly formed IPS. “Combining our local expertise with extrutec’s global resources and cutting-edge technology will enable us to offer a broader range of products and services.”
