RevoCast, an affiliate of Lorval Capital Management (along with Apex Aluminum Extrusions), plans to construct a new state-of-the-art aluminum remelting facility in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. The facility will supply the West Coast and Pacific Northwest extrusion market with low-carbon aluminum billet with the highest recycled content.
“The launch of this aluminum remelting facility marks a significant step forward in our commitment to sustainable manufacturing,” said Thomas Martini, president and CEO of RevoCast. “By closing the loop and giving aluminum a second life, we’re not only reducing our environmental impact but also ensuring a reliable and resilient supply of billet to meet growing industry demand. We’re investing in sustainability, economic resilience, and regional job creation — all while strengthening the aluminum supply chain across North America.”
The new 11,148 sq m (120,000 sq ft) factory is being designed with sustainability at its core. The plant will utilize best-in-class equipment with industry-leading energy efficiency to recycle and remelt a wide range of raw materials. It aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions while producing high-quality remelt billets for the growing North American extrusion market.
Once operational, the facility will have an annual production capacity of more than 80,000 tons (176.4 million lbs) of aluminum billet. Initially, the factory will focus on producing billets in two diameters — Ø178mm (7 inches) and Ø203mm (8 inches) — with a maximum sellable length of 7.3 meters (288 inches). The billets will be produced in the 6xxx alloy series, which is known for their versatility in extrusion applications.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025, with plant commissioning set for 2026.
