Champagne Metals recently commissioned a new state-of-the-art 111 inch wide cut-to-length line from Butech Bliss at its newly constructed Middlebury, Indiana facility. The new line is part of an expansion project, called “The 111 Line,” which will include the installation of a leveling line. The expansion adds approximately 79,000 sq ft, bringing the total facility in Indiana to 160,000 sq ft.

The new aluminum cut-to-length line is one of the widest in North America and will satisfy the ever growing demand for aluminum material by the marine, commercial transportation, consumer electronics, and appliance industries. It features entry equipment, over and under coil payoff capabilities, a hydraulic crop shear with auto-gap adjustment, side trimmer (up to 8 inches per side), scrap chopper, hydraulic roller cassette leveler, and direct drive flying shear. The new line’s capabilities include the ability to process aluminum up to 0.375 inches thick, with 35,000 psi yield at a maximum line speed of 200 fpm.

Champagne Metals is an aluminum service center and coil processor headquartered in Glenpool, Oklahoma. The company distributes a wide range of aluminum products including coil, sheet, bar, and extrusions. “Our continuous investment in state of the art coil processing equipment sets us apart from ordinary service centers and processors,” says the company. “This equipment enables us to provide our customers with quality products and services that are unmatched in the industry. We also provide coil toll processing for mills, service centers, and OEMs.”
