Arconic Corporation, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has began operating as a leader in advanced aluminum sheet, plate, extrusion, and architectural products used in ground transportation, aerospace, industrial, packaging, and commercial building markets. This follows the announcement that Arconic Inc. would separate into two standalone companies — Arconic Corporation and Howmet Aerospace. Arconic Corporation will be led by CEO Tim Myers.
“Arconic Corporation has been a leader in aluminum products innovation since its predecessor founded the company in 1888,” said Myers. “Our unique portfolio of assets and dedicated people around the world set Arconic apart from its peers.”
Arconic was first formed in 2016, when Alcoa made a similar split, separating its primary aluminum and downstream operations into two separate business. The newly formed Arconic Corporation comprises the company’s rolled products, extrusions, and building and construction operations. In 2019, these businesses generated $7.3 billion in revenue.
Aerospace and Automotive Products: Arconic is a key supplier of aluminum sheet and plate for the aerospace industry, producing lightweight, strong aluminum and aluminum-lithium components.
In addition, the company is a market leader in the North American automotive market, providing aluminum sheet and extrusions that are designed to support OEMs in manufacturing safer, lighter, and more fuel efficient cars and trucks.
Brazing, Commercial Transportation, and Industrial Solutions: The company is known for being among the first to develop aluminum brazing sheet. Its proprietary multi-layer sheet solutions are a design enabler for advanced thermal management systems, offering increased efficiency regardless of the application. This division also operates a world-class R&D center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, dedicated to brazing sheet product innovations.
In addition, Arconic supplies commercial transportation and industrial solutions. Through its global network of rolling mills, the company provides a common portfolio of sheet products and extrusions to customers worldwide.
Building and Construction Systems: Arconic’s Building & Construction Systems business offers a comprehensive range of building façade products that are utilized around the world. The company’s products are designed for everything from doors and windows to curtain walls and roofs, enabling architects, designers, and engineers to realize their vision for modern, beautiful, and high-performing buildings.
In conjunction with the launch of Arconic Corporation, the company’s independently endowed charitable arm, Arconic Foundation, will continue to support programs that help prepare the 21st century engineering and manufacturing workforce by providing high-quality STEM education opportunities.
