Vitex Extrusion in Franklin, NH, was acquired by NSA Industries, LLC, a metal fabrication, machining, powder coating, and assembly operation in St. Johnsbury, VT. The acquisition is a strategic step, which will enable NSA to expand its capabilities and move into the high-growth extrusion market, while at the same time providing Vitex with access to significantly expanded downstream manufacturing capabilities.

“Vitex is a highly successful aluminum solutions provider committed to providing greater services to our customers,” said Andrew Curland, president and CEO of Vitex Extrusion. “Now we can offer our customers NSA’s design, machining, fabrication, and contract manufacturing services, which are unmatched in the Northeast. This merger transforms our business into one of the largest, fully integrated aluminum extrusion manufacturers in the U.S.”

Vitex operates a 115,000 sq ft, fully integrated  extrusion manufacturing facility. The company operates two extrusion presses—an 8 inch and a 9 inch—as well as providing design support and prototyping, machining, fabrication (expanded in early 2019), and assembly. The company serves the needs of system integrators, OEMs and product manufacturers from a variety of end markets, including the lighting, solar energy, automotive, and building product industries.

NSA Industries is the largest metal fabrication and finishing operation of its kind in Northern New England. The company works collaboratively with customers to develop manufacturing solutions, including metal fabrication, precision machining, powder coating, engineering, and prototype development and assembly. It currently operates five state-of-the-art-facilities located in four cities St Johnsbury, VT; Groveton, NH; and Ipswich and Georgetown, MA—totaling over 375,000 sq. ft. The company is ISO 9001:2008 certified.

The purchase of Vitex is part of NSA’s plan to expand and diversify the company through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Since NSA was an existing customer of Vitex, the acquisition is a good fit for the two companies. It provides NSA with aluminum extrusion capabilities, as well as expanding its sales into markets such as transportation, building and construction, and electrical.

“Aluminum extrusions are a high-growth industry, making this an exciting opportunity for NSA,” stated James Moroney, CEO of NSA Industries. “Vitex Extrusion has a great reputation for its manufacturing capabilities and its commitment to quality and customer service. We’re very pleased to welcome them into the NSA Industries family of companies.”
