The International Committee for Study of Bauxite, Alumina & Aluminium (ICSOBA) will host ICSOBA 2021 – the 39th International Conference and Exhibition on November 22-25, as part of a hybrid event that will take place both online and in Manama, Bahrain.
“We will monitor the situation of COVID-19 in Bahrain and globally and the event organization will be adjusted accordingly,” stated the organizing committee. “If the pandemic still prevents travel in September 2021, the conference will be declared fully virtual.”
The ICSOBA 2021 will provide technical presentations with a focus on sustainable development and carbon footprint reduction. In addition, aluminum industry market scenarios and the economic outlook will be reviewed during keynote sessions. Papers will be presented in the following areas:
- Bauxite deposits & mining
- Alumina refining
- Carbon electrodes in aluminum electrolysis
- Primary aluminum production
- Aluminum recycling
- Health, environment, and safety
In addition to technical presentations, the ICSOBA conference will feature an exhibition highlighting the latest technologies, equipment, and other devices for the aluminum industry. Exhibiting companies will also be given a time slot for presentation at a corresponding technical session of the conference, and connection with virtual participants will be possible.
Onsite delegates will also have the opportunity to participate in technical field trips to the Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) smelter in Bahrain and the Ma’aden Alumina Refinery in Saudi Arabia on November 25th.
Call for Papers
The organizing committee invites the submission of abstracts, papers and presentations. All presentations and papers will be in English.
Presentations will be delivered live at the venue or online. When submitting an abstract, authors should indicate their preference of delivery, as well as their selected area of domain (bauxite, alumina, aluminum, carbon, or recycling).
Submissions should be sent through ConfTool. All abstracts and papers should be written using the ICSOBA 2021 Author Guidelines and Paper Template.
