Emirates Extrusion Installs New Powder Coating Line

Emirates Extrusion Factory
Emirates Extrusion Factory installed a new powder coating line at its facility in the UAE.

Emirates Extrusion Factory LLC, a subsidiary of M’Sharie LLC (the private equity arm of Dubai Investments PJSC), completed the installation of a new powder coating line at its facility in Dubai’s Technopark, United Arab Emirates. The powder coating line provides expanded capacity, enabling the company to respond to increasing demand for painted aluminum profiles in the GCC region.

Installed by Cisart, Italy, the powder coating line includes a single quick color change spray cabin and a bi-rail power and free conveyor traveling up to 3 m/min. The application booth, equipped with 12 corona guns, is contained in an air conditioned cabin, where the temperature is kept at a constant 25°C at all times. The U shaped gas fired curing oven operates at 200°C on average (temperature reached in no more than 30 min), which is fitted with air curtains to prevent heat loss. The coating line is designed to be able to run 24 hours per day, six days a week.

Providing a productivity of 24 racks per hour, the powder coating line is able to provide a variety of colors on lengths up to 6.8 m, complying with international standards such as Qualicoat. The line also features a conventional chrome based pretreatment plant in baskets including a semiautomated bridge crane and a well drying oven.

Established in 1993 in Ajman, United Arab Emirates, Emirates Extrusion Factory, has gained a renowned position in the Middle East as a dynamic and innovative aluminum extrusion company. The company has made investments in technology in recent years, which enable it to provide a wide variety of aluminum extrusions in various finishes that meet its customers’ specific needs. Recent expansions include not only the new powder coating line, but also increases in extrusion capacity — the aim of which is to meet growing demand in the GCC region.

“Architectural, building, and construction applications accounted for over 80% of the extrusion market in the Middle East region — the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar are witnessing a spurt in construction activity, and this has put added demand for aluminium profiles at our plants,” said Khalfan Al Suwaidi, managing director of Emirates Extrusion Factory. “Apart from construction, there have been significant investments in the transportation, electrical and industrial sectors across the GCC countries, and the demand for aluminium extrusion products for these sectors is expected to increase in the coming years.”
