ALUMINIUM Trade Fair to Get Back on Track in 2022

Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current travel restrictions impacting a number of exhibitors, sponsors, and speakers, Reed Exhibitions has made the decision to postpone the ALUMINIUM trade fair scheduled for September 28-30 in Düsseldorf. The in-person event will return in 2022.

“Despite numerous relaxations, many companies of the global aluminum industry still feel uncertainties and are affected by travel restrictions. An international event like ALUMINIUM is not feasible under these circumstances. The expectations that our exhibitors, visitors, partners, and we have of a world-leading trade fair for this sector cannot be met this year under these conditions,”  said Barbara Leithner, COO of Reed Exhibitions. “Together with our partners and the industry, we have therefore decided to launch the fair again in Autumn 2022.”

The next edition of the ALUMINIUM world trade fair will take place in Düsseldorf as planned on September 27-29, 2022.

ALUMINIUM Business Summit

For this year, Reed Exhibitions is working with Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie (GDA) and CRU Group to host the ALUMINIUM Business Summit, a two-day hybrid congress format, which will be held on September 28-29 in Düsseldorf and online.

The ALUMINIUM Business Summit will provide an industry meeting place to discuss the most important topics of the industry. “With the summit, we are creating a framework for the industry and the participants to meet in person and, with the top-class lecture program, and in so doing we are continuing to pursue the path started with the ALUMINIUM Digital Talk,” said Leithner.

For the in-person portion of the event, the number of participants will be limited. In addition, a comprehensive hygiene concept will be implemented in order to ensure that participants can move around and exchange ideas safely on site.

The program is being produced in cooperation with the GDA, the CRU Group, and European Aluminium. All of the content from the summit will also be made available online.

“The aim of the ALUMINIUM Business Summit is to accompany our industry, to constructively tackle the challenges of new mobility, digitalization, sustainability, and international market development and to shape the industry’s transformation,” said Marius Baader, managing director of the GDA.
