International Conference on Extrusion and Benchmark 2013 The International Conference on Extrusion and Benchmark (ICEB) is one of the biggest events in Europe related to the recent developments on the Extrusion Technologies and their analysis by FEM simulation. The fourth ICEB fourth edition will be held in Dortmund, Germany on October 8-9, 2013.
Organized by the IUL and the TU Dortmund University in Germany, and the DIEM and the University of Bologna in Italy, ICEB joins together technical and scientific experts, to widen their knowledge and to form an international community for the discussion of state-of-the-art and future developments in the field of extrusion and its most powerful tool, the numerical simulation.
The conference is a two-in-one event, merging a conference on the “Latest advances in the extrusion of light alloys” with an industrial worldwide contest, “FEM codes Benchmark”.
- In the conference sessions, invited papers, as well as contributions from academia and industry, will describe all the most recent developments in the analysis, optimization, and research of light alloy extrusion.
- In the benchmark sessions, participants will be asked to simulate an extrusion process (a specially designed die for emphasizing selected process-related issues), on the basis of die geometries, material properties, ram speed, and temperatures as they were monitored by the organizers. During the conference the blind simulation results will be discussed and compared to the data recorded during experimental trials, thus allowing a clear and balanced comparison of different FEM codes and simulation approaches.
